I hope you all enjoyed a nice
summer. Here we are in September
already and the conference is only seven months away!
In this issue of the CalGIS
newsletter I wanted to encourage all of you to consider presenting your
work at the conference. It is always
refreshing to see how well someone has integrated GIS into their workflow
or business. Sometimes just a new
way to look at an old problem is all it takes to spark the interest to try
something new. Let us celebrate your
success by presenting it at CalGIS 2008. Use the "Become a
Presenter" link in the Quick Links section to submit an abstract
today.
The California Geographic
Information Association (CGIA) is accepting nominations for their awards
for excellence in GIS, to be presented at CalGIS. CGIA annually recognizes outstanding
achievements in various aspects of GIS within California through its awards
program. If someone or an agency you
know has developed an innovative way of using GIS, please consider nominating
them for an award. All of the information
regarding the nominations can be found at:

Many of your have already
taken advantage of the excellent savings and registered, and also decided
to participate in the conference by submitting an abstract. If you haven't registered yet, the
